Let us start with the history of ComputerBase...
ComputerBase was founded by Michael Chang in 1999 and started life at Oakway Center. At the tail end of 2000 Mike Owen started working with Michael and we quickly established ourselves as a leading provider of the most reliable desktop systems in town. We learned from our mistakes and phased out any part that exceeded a 1% failure rate. That's right, 1%. Our focus has been to reduce your downtime on failed hardware. Sadly, we cannot say the same of software as Microsoft has made all of lives miserable at times.
Fast forward to 2006 and Michael was headed back overseas with his family and away from the terrible allergies the Willamette Valley bestowed upon him. He sold the majority of ComputerBase to Bob Crandell of Assured Computing, a local consulting company whose business was complimentary to ComputerBase. Since that time was have moved locations from our orginal start at Oakway Center to Goodpasture & Delta Highway in 2001. We spent 15 years in that location before moving to 49 Silver Ln in March of 2016. Once again, in 2024 we'll be making possilby our final move to cut costs and overhead as Bob heads into retirement and Mike begins the solo show that most in store customers have come to know.
Bob will still provide limited onsite services but is stepping back in his role to enjoy some hard earned time off. This will limit our onsite capabilities for new clients but we may provide pick up and drop off services for a small fee. If you are interested in working with home users and small business for basic networking, printer setup, and other in home or office settings beginning late 2023 feel free to contact us. These jobs will be on a contract basis and your performance and customer reviews will help dictate future work.
And now Eugene Computers
Mike has had his nose to the grindstone for over 20 years serving Eugene and beyond and is now taking the venture upon himself. The majority of customers familiar with ComputerBase are quite often only familiar with Mike as it is, so not much is going to change beside the location.
